The database so far comprises 171 datasets from 75 different experimental sites. The sites range from Alaska, Canada, Greenland and Spitsbergen to Scandinavia and Russia, with additional sites in Iceland, the Alps, the Tibetan Plateau and Australia.

Indigenous people of the tundra landscape have lived and endured in those regions well before the time when the land was divided with country borders. We would hereby like to acknowledge that the fieldwork conducted to sample the data for this database took place on lands that have been or are currently partly belonging to Indigenous peoples.
